Edmund and Elva Dooley and children Helen, Bernard, Clark and Genevieve, undated.  Many of the family began adding the letter 'e' into the original Dooly family name so whether it's final letters are 'ly' or 'ley' it's still the same family.

Edmund and Elva Dooley operated a pool hall and restaurant on Monticello's Main St. for a time in the 1930's.  It was said that Elva made wonderful turtle soup whenever someone brought in a snapping turtle for her to cook.

James and Theresa Rossiter-Dooly.  She was daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John and Catherine Rossiter, born Mar. 2, 1859. Her marriage to James Dooly took place in St. James' Catholic Church in Dayton on May 18, 1881. She died in 1932.  James Dooly was born August 4, 1854, on the old Dooly homestead farm, two miles east of the village. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Dooly, who were numbered among the pioneer settlers of this vicinity. He died in 1930.
